What You Draw Says About You

E'er wondered nearly your doodles? You know what we mean. That absent-minded cartoon you exercise when yous're on the telephone or in a meeting.

Turns out what y'all describe -- whether information technology be stars, flowers or your own name -- could exist reflective of certain personality traits.

Though it's worth pointing out this is not a scientific study, we spoke to graphologist and behavioral specialist Ingrid Seger-Woznicki almost the reasons behind why we plow to absent-minded scribbling when we're distracted.

"Nosotros exercise it because we're trouble solving on an unconscious level," Seger-Woznicki told HuffPost Australia. "Or we're dreaming on an unconscious level.

"It is us trying to create our life without stressing near it."

And so what are some of the more than common things people tend to draw?

"A lot of people draw houses," Seger-Woznicki said.

"It's reflective of their home, or how they perceive their home. For instance, the more particular you put into your 'business firm' represents how you feel about your house. If y'all are drawing ane with copse and flowers and all that -- that is a really inviting business firm -- information technology'south meaning you're content.

"If you are drawing a firm without defunction, for example, it could mean your home is empty, lonely or uninviting. Even if information technology isn't, physically, it could be that you feel lonely in your own house, or lonely in your life.

"Love hearts is some other one, and it is what it is. People desire to be loved, they desire to create relationships that are fulfilling. Conversely a broken beloved heart could be communicating a pretty crappy relationship.

"Basically, if what you're drawing makes you lot feel good, y'all're communicating feel-expert things. If it looks depressing, you're communicating depressing things on an unconscious level."

Keen to find out more, The Huffington Post Australia squad decided to submit their latest sketches for analysis... with interesting results.

FLOWERS

"Flowers tend to be a female thing. They tend to imply something very personal and can exist referring to relationships.

"People who doodle flowers tend to be sentimental people --even traditionalists at heart. They value things like wedlock, children, photos, good memories -- things similar that."

SHAPES, BOXES, AND GEOMETRIC PATTERNS

"These people tend to compartmentalise their life into boxes, and tend to be very clear thinkers. Sometimes they may have split up things in carve up places -- and by that I hateful, for example, they may not have friends that cross over. They accept their work mates, their schoolhouse mates, other mates -- they don't necessarily mix their lives up.

"They ofttimes bargain with things and have checklists. They like to be organised."

YOUR Own NAME

"To doodle your own name means you like attention. That'southward what information technology means -- that you're a scrap of an attention seeker. How large you write your proper noun over and over again is how much immediate attending you demand. If you write your name once more and once again in a small font, you will enter the room quietly, but however command attention in some mode or another.

"The bigger your name is -- the more likely you'll make a bigger noise as yous enter the room.

"It doesn't hateful it's in bad taste -- it could exist giggling and laughing, or greeting anybody quite loudly. You practise not like to exist invisible and if you feel you are, you will take it personally. There'due south a stiff need to exist loved and noticed."

And just in example anyone is putting ii and ii together and forming opinions about a certain reporter -- it appears to exist an "Emily" affair.

No use hiding information technology in flowers and triangles. We come across you, Verdouw. Which brings united states of america to another interesting part of the above sketch...

ARROWS

"Arrows betoken direction and goals also. Backwards arrows may mean you are wanting something that used to be."

We did not ask what an arrow explosion means.

FACES OR Eyes

"Faces are very personal. Essentially they are drawing themselves. A happy face ways generally a happy person. If you depict angry faces -- it doesn't mean you display anger, only you lot could be feeling it unconsciously.

"As for eyes -- they are windows to your soul. And so, information technology'south a pretty similar thing [equally faces].

"Annihilation to practice with facial features reveal something nearly yourself. It can even reveal phallic, sexual expressions too.

"The more you lot put pressure on the optics or the oral fissure, that is revealing a lot of frustration in that area. Maybe you don't like what you see. A closed mouth could point sexual or sensuous thoughts.

"Lips with teeth showing tend to reveal aggression. Possibly sexual aggression -- that you're frustrated with your sexual life. The eyes, nose and mouth -- these are always an expression of self."

SHOES

"It really depends on the blazon of shoe. A spiky heel is interesting -- it reveals sarcasm.

"A heavy shoe or more of a working evidence can indicate a desire to dominate. A pretty shoe is friendliness.

"Shoes are really the way nosotros reveal strength. Kids often don't draw shoes, because they don't have a strong foundation notwithstanding. They don't experience strong on their feet. That'southward why you lot say, 'I've got to get dorsum on my anxiety' -- it indicates our foundation and force."

And sometimes our doodles represent our social lives. Like that of CP.

AND WE WILL LEAVE THIS WITH You

Pitiful face.
